GalaXic Baseball League Brings MLB Stars to the Cosmos

Manga artist Acky Bright is launching a bold new series titled GalaXic Baseball League. This sci fi sports story follows Gaia, a struggling baseball team on the brink of being kicked out of an intergalactic competition. To save their team, a new manager named Luna and a staffer named Sol recruit some of the biggest names in professional baseball to compete in the high stakes GXBL Survival Tournament.

The roster features major stars including Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Fernando Tatís Jr., Jazz Chisholm Jr., Kyle Schwarber, and Paul Skenes. Bright explained that he selected these players based on their positions and individual skills to create a balanced team, rather than focusing solely on popularity.

Known for his signature style that blends cute and cool aesthetics, Bright aims to make the series accessible to everyone. He wants readers who know nothing about baseball to enjoy the action, while offering diehard fans plenty of nods to their favorite players. Ultimately, the series highlights themes of empathy, teamwork, and respect.

Bright drew inspiration from the intensity of the World Baseball Classic and classic manga like Dokaben. By stripping back his usual detailed line work for a cleaner look, he hopes to reach a wide audience. Fans can look forward to seeing how these real world legends handle the pressures of an alien baseball league.
