Gal Gadot Movie The Runner 2026 Falls Short of Its Big Goals

Gal Gadot is back in a new action movie called The Runner (2026). She plays Maia, a tough lawyer in London who finds herself in a nightmare situation. Her son Noah has been kidnapped, and a mysterious voice on the phone tells her she has exactly one hour to run across the city. To save her son, she has to kill a witness in a high profile murder trial. It is a setup that should keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

Unfortunately, the movie makes some choices that are hard to believe. In one scene, Maia gets hit by a car and knocked out, only to jump out of an ambulance and start running again a few minutes later. Later on, she even manages to outrun a subway train on foot. These moments make it hard to take the danger seriously, even though the stakes for her son are so high.

The acting is the best part of the film. Gal Gadot is very convincing as a terrified but determined mother. Damian Lewis provides the voice of the kidnapper, and he sounds truly cold and scary. While the ending has a few surprises that give the story some extra weight, the movie loses too much logic along the way. It is a decent watch for fans of the cast, but it does not quite reach its full potential.
