Square Enix is back with Final Fantasy Resonance, a full remake and reimagining of the 2015 mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The story follows knights Rain and Lasswell in the kingdom of Grandshelt as they investigate the Earth Shrine. After a mysterious warrior shatters the Earth Crystal, the pair must protect the remaining crystals while meeting memorable companions like Fina, Lid, Nichol, Jake, and Sakura along the way.

The narrative keeps players hooked by expanding nicely across different cities and regions. Fans of the franchise will especially enjoy the lore references and endearing character interactions, particularly during fun side conversations in dungeons and towns. The iconic Vision system also gets a major upgrade, replacing the old gacha mechanics with exploration based recruitment where players visit sanctums to unlock classic heroes.

Combat stays true to traditional turn based roots, letting your party unleash magical skills, powerful Espers like Siren and Ramuh, and ultimate Burst attacks. While the action is mostly fun, the game keeps an old school random encounter system that can feel tedious during exploration without a toggle to turn it off.

Despite a few missing quality of life features like map zooming, Final Fantasy Resonance is a fantastic experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike. If you love classic RPG adventures with modern visual polish, this new release is well worth your time.
