D.Mon Joins Overwatch Season 4 as a Jack of All Trades Tank
The new MEKA leader brings a flexible playstyle and heavy weaponry to the front lines in the latest Overwatch update.
manhwa.newsOverwatch Season 4 is here with a major focus on the Heroes of Busan story arc. The Junkers and Talon have formed an unlikely alliance to target the MEKA base, creating a high stakes backdrop for the latest seasonal update. To help defend against this threat, D.Mon has arrived as the newest tank hero. As the new leader of the MEKA squad following D.Va's departure, Yuna steps into a complex role that requires her to fill multiple tactical gaps on the battlefield.
D.Mon plays quite differently from other tank heroes, acting as a true jack of all trades. She uses an omnidirectional boost system that allows for horizontal movement in any direction, making her excellent at diving into the fray or escaping danger. Her kit features a long range hitscan gun for picking off enemies and a heavy sword for close combat that can pierce through enemy shields. She also carries a compact shield for personal protection, allowing her to act as a mobile wall for her team.
Her ultimate, Limit Break, delivers a massive horizontal slash that deals damage and weakens opponents who are struck. While it can be avoided with a well timed jump, the speed of the attack makes it a significant threat in the right hands. However, players should be careful because D.Mon is surprisingly fragile for a tank. She requires constant movement and support from healers to survive, as she can be taken down quickly if she stands in one spot for too long.
Outside of her mech, D.Mon faces some tough challenges. She moves significantly slower than other pilots, and her re mech animation is slower as well, which leaves her vulnerable to being picked off. While mastering her out of mech gameplay takes practice, her unique combination of mobility and swordplay offers a fresh experience for tank mains looking to shake up their strategy this season.
