Crunchyroll is Leaving Nintendo Switch in 2026

Big changes are coming for anime fans who use their Nintendo Switch to watch shows. Crunchyroll has announced that its dedicated app for the console will stop working on October 30, 2026. This brings an end to nearly five years of streaming support on the platform.

Nintendo recently updated its official support page to confirm the news. Users have also started receiving emails directly from Crunchyroll about the upcoming closure. If you usually check the eShop for the app, you may have already noticed that the listing has been removed from the store.

While this is definitely disappointing news for fans who enjoy watching their favorite series on the go, there is no word yet on a replacement for the next Nintendo console. For now, you will need to find another device to stream your anime once the shutdown date arrives.
