Roco Kingdom is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the monster taming genre. Developed by MoreFun Studios, this game tasks players with befriending creatures called Jinis and mastering magic in a sprawling open world. The project acts as a reboot of a Chinese browser game from 2010, allowing the developers to build upon a well established foundation of creature designs and world building.

While the game shares some DNA with iconic series like Pokemon, it aims to stand out through its focus on social features and an all ages experience. Players can ride their Jinis, share mounts with friends, and even hold hands while exploring. The environment is designed to be a stress free hub where you can visit customizable housing areas and watch monsters interact in a cozy setting.

Combat remains turn based but adds layers of complexity with an energy system and unique class interactions that trigger stat boosts or counterattacks. With 400 Jinis promised at launch and a training system designed to be accessible, the game looks to balance casual fun with potential for a competitive scene. The development team intends to keep the experience fresh with future scenario expansions.

The upcoming closed beta test begins on October 27. Fans can look forward to the full release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, PC, and mobile devices in 2027.
