Abbott Elementary Returns With Hilarious Season 6 Premiere

Abbott Elementary is officially back for its sixth season, and the teachers at Willard R. Abbott Public School are proving that there is always something new to learn. The first two episodes, Jungle Classroom and Check Ins, bring the crew back to the everyday challenges of teaching. We see the faculty adjusting to big changes, like Gregory stepping into his new role as assistant principal and Melissa handling more union work.

Janine kicks off the season with an ambitious attempt to give her classroom a jungle makeover, inspired by the high standards seen on social media. It serves as a funny look at the pressure teachers face to create perfect classroom environments. Gregory also hits a major snag when he learns that his expected teaching replacement is actually an AI program, highlighting the show's talent for poking fun at how schools try to use technology to fix systemic issues.

While the premiere is busy setting the stage for the rest of the season, it still hits all the right emotional and comedic beats. Watching Barbara try to manage a sensitive situation with a student only to have the lesson backfire is classic Abbott. It is a warm, relatable return that reminds us why this ensemble is so special. Fans should look forward to seeing how these characters handle their new titles throughout the coming episodes.
